Located in Santa Barbara’s Landmark District, just steps from State Street, The Funk Zone , West beach and Sterns Wharf sits this Folk Victorian Home. This home Recently renovated in 2019 is part of the Brinkerhoff District . The Brinkerhoff District is a quaint neighborhood representing a period of significance to Santa Barbara’s history. This neighbored has collection of well preserved homes built between 1886 and 1913 in styles including Queen Anne, Italianate, Stick, Craftsman, Folk Victorian, and Colonial Revival. The homes are reflective of neighborhoods of the late 19th and early 20th century.. 

This 1906 Folk Victorian was but for the Rees family as a personal residence and would later be home to a series of different businesses over the years including a tailor, seamstress, answering service, insurance agency, Architect and most recently the Durbin Learning just to name a few. We purchased the home in early 2017 with the goal in mind to refurbish the home and take it back to its former glory days. 

The Location and Home is perfect for families, and friends whether your are coming for a vacation, a getaway to just relax or a celebration for birthdays or weddings we have the perfect spot for you. We have off street parking for 4 or more cars. Just park your car and don’t move it again until you you are ready to leave. this place is the perfect home base for all there is to do in santa barbara.The whole of Santa Barbara’s downtown is in walking distance from this great location. We are one block from State Street where you will find Paseo Nuevo an outdoor shopping mall, many great restaurants, bars, breweries, wine tasting rooms and shops. You can rent a bike or catch the Santa Barbara trolly to take you to the pier, East and West beach, the Santa Barbara Zoo and the harbor. Or just spend the day relaxing at the beach!

The Space 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath Sleeps unto 8 people- This home features original hardwood floors throughout, plenty of natural light, air-conditioning and ceiling fans that ensure a comfortable stay. Amazon Alexa in the dining rooms and bedrooms to allow music in all rooms. The home is newly finished with Transitional style decor and artwork throughout.  

LIVING AREAS

In the main living area, a comfortable Leather sofa sleeper, and 2 leather chairs facing the large 65” LG OLED flat screen TV comes with WiFi, Streaming tv, Netflix create a perfect setting to recharge after a day of sightseeing. Crack open a book, or simply enjoy the sunshine from the surrounding windows.

KITCHEN & DINING

The beautifully updated kitchen is well-equipped with state-of-the-art gourmet appliances including a 6 burner Viking Duel Fuel gas range, 42” Viking side by side fridge, Wolf microwave, Viking dishwasher, and ample counter space. Everything you need to prepare your favorite dishes, including, reverse osmosis filtered water system, Keurig coffee maker, French Press, a tea kettle, toaster, high quality pots & pans, Henkel knives, silverware and dishes and various utensils. Gas grill in the patio. We have sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil. Please bring food. No cooking for a party or event

When you’re ready to eat, enjoy your meal at the formal dining room with a bay window, round dining table with crystal chandelier a perfect seating for six to eight. The table doubles as a perfect spot to play family board games. 

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This home sleeps six guests in three bedrooms, each appointed with hotel-quality linens. All three with new furnishings including Queen size Beauty Rest mattresses. All rooms have armoires for storage, Ceiling fans, Mirrors, Luxury Bathrobes, includes bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, many towels of different sizes, soaps, shampoo, iron, hair dryer and Alexa Dots for in room music. There are 2 bathrooms in this home. One finished with Marble finishings a large curb less shower with a bench seat. The other bathroom is finished subway tiles and a shower. (there are no bathtubs in this home). This home can also sleep an additional 2 people using the Queen sized pullout sofa couch in the living room.

OUTDOOR AREAS

A great front porch features the perfect space for relaxing and people watching local neighbors as the head to the downtown. The space is perfect to enjoy your morning coffee or siping an evening glass of wine. Enjoy alfresco dining at the 8 person table and chairs on the side yard or relax on the back yard deck under the umbrella with BBQing.

  • Potential for noise - Downtown area, near restaurants, bars, train station, and street
  • Must climb stairs - Entry into the home, and around property.
  • Security deposit - if you damage the home, you may be charged up to $500
  • Surveillance or recording devices on property - All surveillance is on 24/7/365 and is located and cover the entire exterior of the home & property only.

Additional rules

While our #1 priority is insuring that our valued guests enjoy their stay with us, we also have an equally as important commitment to our neighbors and our community. Below are the house rules that we must enforce. Please read them prior to confirming your reservation. If you are not comfortable with these rules, we encourage you to please make alternate accommodations: Your request and acceptance of the reservation confirms you and your group have read, understand and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. * Minimum age policy of 25 years of age * Check-in is after 4PM | Check out is at 10am There’s a fifteen minute grace period after the 10:00a.m. checkout. There’s $100 late check-out fee if you check out after 10:15a.m. This fee compensates our house cleaners for their time and having to accommodate a change of scheduling. *No Pet Policy Although we love our fury friend we have a NO PET policy as our home is not well suited for animals. If our house keeper informs us this policy has been violated you will be responsible for a minimum special cleaning fee of $200.00 and not to exceed all costs and fees incurred for damages. * No smoking is allowed inside any of our properties or on the premises. We have a NO Smoking / vaping or candles policy anywhere on or near our property. If our house keeper informs us this policy has been violated you will be responsible for a minimum special cleaning fee of $250.00 and not to exceed all costs and fees incurred for damages. *Daytime occupancy (9am-9pm) including children and infants maximum is not to exceed 12 people on the property at anytime. Overnight occupancy is limited to 8 people (including children and infants) unless prior written consent is received from the host. * NO PARTIES AT ANY TIME - a party is defined as any combination of the following; ANY loud noise and/or excessive drinking that is disruptive to neighboring houses and/or guests outnumbering the maximum amount permitted as defined above. A party will result in an immediate eviction from the property with no refund given under any circumstance. Any exceptions to this policy must be approved by the host in writing prior to the arrival date. * In the event of an emergency to perform necessary repairs and/or maintenance, we reserve the right to enter the property. All trash must be placed into outside trash container and recycle. If there is debris outside the container there will be a $150.00 special remediation fee.
